10 NEW Hermes Agent Skills You Need To Install This Week

Ten free Hermes agent skills that add video creation, web access, security audits, persistent memory, and cleaner code. Find out which one the creator installs first.

The following ten skills extend Hermes agents beyond conversation. They cover diagram design, statistical analysis, security review, interface design, video generation, web access, persistent memory, response style, task persistence, and code economy. According to the presenter, all ten are free, install within minutes, and were tested on a live agent. The skills are presented below in countdown order, from tenth to first.

10. Diagram Design

Agents often produce basic box-and-arrow diagrams that lack visual quality. The Diagram Design skill gives the agent an editorial approach to layout. It generates clean flowcharts, architectural diagrams, and explainers intended for professional use in decks, websites, videos, and technical teaching.

The presenter tested the skill by asking an agent to redraw a plain gray newsletter funnel diagram in brand colors. The result was presented as a visual before-and-after comparison.

9. Research and Data Analysis Library

Agents asked to analyze data or verify claims often generate plausible but unsupported answers. This skill adds a library of research tools built for analytical rigor, data analysis, and scientific methods. It installs into Hermes with a single command.

In the presenter's test, the agent received a CSV file of actual video statistics and was asked whether monthly growth was statistically significant or random variation. The agent ran a statistical test and returned a publication-quality chart that reported the result and the p-value.

8. Security Audit Pack

This pack contains more than 800 security skills. The agent uses them to examine an application as an attacker would, identify weaknesses, and provide remediation steps for each one. The skills map to established security playbooks used by some security professionals.

The presenter ran the pack against one of their own websites. The agent returned a ranked list of vulnerabilities and a patch method for each.

The skill's name includes "Anthropic." The presenter states that it is a community pack and not an official Anthropic plugin. The name was added by the creator.

7. Taste Skill

AI-generated interfaces often function correctly but display visual flaws, including inconsistent spacing, flat layouts, and a generic appearance. Taste Skill provides the agent with design rules for spacing, typography, layout, and motion. The agent reviews its output and corrects recurring visual issues.

The presenter generated a landing page with the skill disabled, then regenerated the same content with the skill enabled. The presenter describes the second version as having a human-made appearance.

6. HyperFrame

HyperFrame enables agents to produce video. The user describes the desired output, and the agent writes the video as an HTML file and renders it into a video file. The tool is designed for agents from the outset.

In the presenter's test, a single prompt requested a 10-second product introduction for the website charbel.com with a fading title. The agent generated the code and rendered the video file.

5. Agent Reach

Agents can search the open web but cannot access pages that require a login. Agent Reach provides access to gated platforms, including X, Reddit, and GitHub. It includes failover routes to reduce the risk of being blocked.

The presenter asked an agent to collect public commentary about Agent Reach itself from X and the open web. The agent returned quotations, links, and a summary. The presenter had previously featured this skill in another video.

4. G Brain

Agents typically lose context between sessions. G Brain provides persistent memory stored on the user's own machine. It organizes information as a connected map rather than relying on keyword matching, which allows the agent to interpret how notes relate to one another. The skill was built specifically for Hermes.

The presenter connected G Brain to their full collection of notes and documents. The agent then answered a question drawn from multiple files and cited the exact sources. G Brain also works with existing note tools, including Obsidian vaults and standard folders.

3. Direct Response Style

This skill changes how the agent formats its replies. The agent states the answer first, limits the response to relevant content, and removes unnecessary text.

The presenter asked the same question twice. One reply was generated with the skill off and one with the skill on. The version with the skill enabled was substantially shorter and gave the answer first.

2. Planning with Files

Agents often lose track of goals during long, multi-step tasks. Planning with Files stores the plan, the steps, encountered problems, and progress in files on disk. The agent reads these files on every turn, so the plan persists through crashes or cleared chats. The skill is a native Hermes plugin.

In the presenter's test, the agent wrote a plan to files during a long build that spanned several phases. After the chat was cleared, the agent read its files and resumed from the last incomplete step.

1. Ponytail

Agents often overbuild solutions by creating unnecessary files, configuration, and helper code. Ponytail requires the agent to work through a sequence of checks before writing code:

  1. Determine whether the code is necessary.
  2. Determine whether existing code can be reused.
  3. Determine whether the language already provides the functionality.
  4. Write new code only if all three answers are no.

The repository lists Hermes as a supported agent.

In the presenter's comparison, two agents received the same small request. The agent without Ponytail created three new files. The agent with Ponytail reused an existing component in the project and completed the task in a few lines. The presenter reports lower code volume, less time, and fewer tokens for the same result. The presenter describes installation as taking about two minutes and identifies Ponytail as the first skill to install on a new agent.

Honorable Mention

The presenter also cited Hermes Agent Mission Control, a repository the presenter created. It is used to monitor and manage multiple agents from one interface.

Introduction

The creator introduces 10 skills that turn Hermes from a chatbot into a working agent, all free and quick to install.

  • Claims one skill builds a full video from a single sentence.
  • Claims one skill gives the agent eyes on parts of the internet it is normally blocked from.
  • Claims one skill is a second brain that runs on the user's own machine.
  • The creator says he runs all 10 skills on his own agent.

10. Diagram Design

Diagram Design gives the agent an editorial eye so it produces clean flowcharts, architectural diagrams, and explainers.

  • Fixes ugly box-and-arrow diagrams that agents usually produce.
  • Useful for professional decks, websites, videos, and technical teaching.
  • Demo: a plain gray newsletter funnel diagram was redrawn in the creator's brand colors.
  • Result looks professionally designed rather than bot-made.

9. Research and Scientific Rigor Skills

A library of research skills that adds rigor, real data analysis, and scientific methods so the agent stops guessing.

  • Installs into Hermes with one command.
  • Aimed at students, researchers, and anyone working with data.
  • Demo: a real CSV of video stats was analyzed to test whether monthly growth was statistically real or noise.
  • Output was a publication-quality chart with the result and the P value.

8. Security Audit Pack

A package of over 800 security skills that lets the agent probe an app like an attacker, then report and explain fixes.

  • Contains more than 800 security skills.
  • Maps to real security playbooks used by professionals.
  • Demo: the agent audited one of the creator's websites and returned a ranked list of holes with patch instructions.
  • Warning: despite the name containing Anthropic, it is a community pack and not an official Anthropic plugin; the creator only added Anthropic to the skill name.

7. Taste Skill

Taste Skill gives the agent design judgment so AI-built interfaces stop looking generic and generated.

  • Applies design rules for spacing, typography, layout, and motion.
  • Reviews its own output and fixes small flaws that reveal generation.
  • Demo: the same landing page was built with the skill off and on, and the skill-on version looked far more polished.
  • Creator says the result looks human-made.

6. HyperFrame

HyperFrame lets the agent create actual video files by writing HTML and rendering it into video.

  • The user describes the desired video, the agent writes it as an HTML file, and then renders it to video.
  • Built for agents from the ground up.
  • Demo: a one-line prompt produced a 10-second product intro for a website with a fading-in title.
  • Targets creators, advertisers, and anyone held back by animation skills.

5. Agent Reach

Agent Reach gives the agent access to login-gated platforms such as X, Reddit, and GitHub, with failover routes to avoid blocks.

  • Pulls from gated platforms including X, Reddit, and GitHub.
  • Uses failover routes so it is not blocked.
  • Demo: the agent gathered real quotes, real links, and a summary of what people said about Agent Reach across X and the open web.
  • Useful for research, marketing, and competitor analysis.
  • The creator previously featured this skill in another video.

4. G Brain

G Brain gives the agent persistent, user-owned memory stored as a connected map of notes that runs locally and is built for Hermes.

  • Stores information as a connected map rather than relying on keyword matching.
  • Runs on the user's own machine and is Hermes-native.
  • Can point at an Obsidian vault or any notes folder.
  • Demo: the agent answered a question spread across a dozen files, citing exact sources instead of guessing.
  • Suits writers, researchers, and anyone wanting an agent that remembers them.

3. Concise Answers Skill

A skill that makes the agent answer directly and concisely, leading with the answer and dropping filler.

  • Leads responses with the answer and removes filler text.
  • Useful for busy users or those with short attention spans.
  • Demo: the same question was asked with the skill off and on, showing the much shorter reply with the skill on.

2. Planning with Files

Planning with Files stores the plan, steps, problems, and progress on disk and feeds them back to the agent every turn, so long jobs survive crashes or cleared chats.

  • Saves the plan, steps, encountered problems, and progress as files on disk.
  • Forces the plan back in front of the agent on every turn.
  • Keeps the plan after a crash or a cleared chat.
  • Native Hermes plugin.
  • Demo: after clearing the chat, the agent read its files and resumed at the exact step it had reached.

1. Ponytail

Ponytail stops the agent from over-engineering by running a checklist before writing any code, favoring reuse and existing built-ins.

  • Runs a ladder before writing code: does this code need to exist, can existing code be reused, is it built into the language.
  • Writes new code only if all answers point that way.
  • Names Hermes as a supported agent in its repository.
  • Demo: the same small request was given to two agents; the one without Ponytail created three new files, while Ponytail reused existing code and used fewer lines, tokens, and less time.
  • Free and takes about two minutes to install; the creator's first install recommendation.

Honorable Mention and Closing

The creator closes with a mention of his own Hermes Agent Mission Control repo and invites the viewer to pick the first skill to install.

  • Honorable mention: Hermes Agent Mission Control, the creator's repo for monitoring multiple agents from one place and building a custom mission control.
  • Viewers are asked to say which skill they will install first.
  • Skill repos, install commands, and prompts are said to be available through a link in the description.
